SOUTH DAYTON - Theodore S. Smith, age 75, passed away July 18, 2012 at the Bertrand Chaffee Hospital in Springville.
Born in Otto, NY March 17, 1937, the son of Clarence and Vera (Chapman) Smith.
A United States Navy veteran, Teddy retired from the former Gowanda Psychiatric Center in June 1998 where he worked as an aide.

Ted is survived by 6 children, Steven Smith of Buffalo, Theodore Smith III of No. Collins, Jodi Way of Buffalo, Robin Wendland of Grand Island, Monica Schultz of Lawtons and Angela Smith of No. Collins. 12 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren survive. Ted is also survived by a sister Hazel (late David) Cooper of Tavares, Fla., along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Theodore was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence and sisters Norma Norris and Wilma Holland.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held Saturday Sept. 8, 2012 @ 11am in the Pine Grove Cemetery (corner of Vail and Zoar Rds.) Gowanda.
