Brooks Alexander Winton, 28, of Sinclairville, N.Y., transitioned from this life on Monday, Sept, 3, 2012 at his home.
Brooks was born on October 14, 1983 in Jamestown, N.Y., son of Todd Winton Sr. and Teresa Greenawalt. He graduated from Cassadaga Valley Central School in 2004 where he was on the wrestling and football teams. While at CVCS, he also studied auto body at B.O.C.E.S. in Fredonia.
Growing up and working on his family's dairy farm, Winton's Arlaine Farms in Sinclairville, he was active in 4-H and competed with lambs and hogs at the Chautauqua County Fair. He enjoyed the Buffalo Bills, hunting, snowmobiling and music.

Above all else, his world centered around his three-year-old twins, Brenden and Brooke Winton. He loved going on excursions with his children, including their most recent trip to Niagara Falls two weeks ago. He was proud of the home he was in the process of purchasing in South Stockton and he spent his free time fixing it up and making it a fun, loving and nurturing environment for his active twins and his loyal canine companion, Roxanne.
Brooks enjoyed life to its fullest and he had a keen sense of adventure. As a result, he held former positions in sales, as a bouncer, security guard, retail worker and dairy farmer. He had an infectious smile, hearty laugh, unequaled sense of humor and big heart and because of this, he had many diverse friends from several walks of life across the country. He was often described as the "Gentle Giant" and this name fit him well.
He was currently employed at Dunkirk Specialty Steel, Dunkirk, where he worked as a steel worker, a job that he greatly enjoyed.
Besides his twins, Brenden and Brooke, he is survived by his father, Todd Winton Sr. of Sinclairville and stepmother Johanna Beebe Winton; his greatly loved grandmother who helped raise him, Elaine Winton of Sinclairville and Inverness, Fla.; his brother Todd Winton Jr. (Melissa) of Sinclairville, sister Felicia Winton of Sinclairville, sister Emily Winton of Stockton, stepsister Abbey Carnes of Stockton, step brother Jacob Beebe of Stockton, uncles Scott Winton of Sherman, Monty (Debbie) Winton of Sinclairville and Jeff Winton of Greenfield, Ind., and Mayville, N.Y. He is also survived by cousins Brian (Sarah) Winton of Sinclairville, Jason Winton of Sinclairville and Melissa Winton of Clymer.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Archie Winton, who along with Brook's grandmother Elaine, helped raise him as a child and teenager.
He is also survived by his mother, Teresa Greenawalt of Jamestown. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins in the Greenawalt family. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Norma Greenawalt.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at the Jordan Funeral Home in Sinclairville. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville and burial will be in Red Bird Cemetery.
