Church to hold 9/11 service

A special 9/11 memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 876 Central Avenue, in Dunkirk, on Tuesday at 6 p.m. All in the community are invited to attend this memorial service. There will be recognition of anyone present who lost a loved one or friend on 9/11.

Dr. and Mrs. Gage will share some of their 9/11 experiences at the service. The Gages lived in New York City at the time when he was pastor of the First Baptist Church in the City of New York. They had an extended ministry to the NYPD and the firemen in the 20th Precinct. Their church was opened around the clock for months to minister to the hurting people of New York City. There will be a special time of prayer for the families of those heroes and families who were lost at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. The theme for the service is, "We will not forget!"
