September 10, 2012
The OBSERVER

The Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation in conjunction with the Patterson Library and the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System are offering a free 2-part "Grant Seeking Basics" training on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to noon. The training will be held at the Patterson Library, located at 40 S. Portage St. in Westfield.

A Foundation Directory Online Data Base training will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m., and a Grant Writing Basics training will follow from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Participants of this training will learn how to search for grant sources via the Foundation Directory Online database and increase their grant writing skills.

The Foundation Directory Online Data Base is a fully searchable database which includes detailed profiles of all active U.S. foundations, as well as an extensive file of grants recently by the nation's top funders.

Megan Disbro, software training and web specialist librarian from the Chautauqua-Cattaraugus Library System, will teach the Foundation Directory Online Searching session. Professional grant writer Sherry Lantz will conduct the "Grant Seeking Basics" training.

Registration is required as space is limited. For more information and to register for this training, contact Eileen Dunn, NCCF program coordinator, at 366-4892 or edunn@nccfoundation.org by Oct. 5.
