Chautauqua Lake takes down?Forestville in four

FORESTVILLE -Chautauqua Lake (2-0, 1-0) earned its first CCAA Division 3 girls' volleyball victory Tuesday, dropping Forestville in four sets, 25-22, 15-25, 25-18, 25-23.

"It was a tough loss," Forestville head coach Jack Dugan said. "We just need to learn how to finish games. We had opportunities to finish the game and we didn't and I put that on me. I need to prepare them mentally to finish games. We'll be ready the next time."

Jenna Einink and Hannah Rauh led the Lady Thunderbirds, as Einink charted 24 kills and five blocks while Rauh chipped in 15 digs and 11 kills. Also for Chautauqua Lake, Tara Hunt had 21 assists and eight digs, Katie Meadows 19 assists and Sydney Milliman 10 digs and four kills.

For the home-standing Lady Hornets, Sydney Youngberg had 14 kills and four aces, Emily Gilman chipped in seven kills and five digs, Ryanne Dugan 30 assists and six digs and Alisha Szumigala five kills and five blocks. Also for Forestville, Cherish Pope had five kills and three digs in the loss.

WESTFIELD - Carly Abbate had 12 assists and three aces to lead Panama (2-0, 1-0) to its first CCAA Division 3 win of the year, as the Lady Panthers dropped Westfield (0-2, 0-2), 25-16, 25-13, 25-18.

Cora Monroy had five kills, five blocks and five aces in the win while Crystal Swanson had seven kills and a block.

For the Lady Wolverines, Hillary Nelson had four kills and two blocks while Madison Mathews charted three aces, two kills and two blocks.

SOUTH DAYTON - After dropping the first two sets Tuesday, Pine Valley (1-1, 1-1) fought all the way back to beat Maple Grove (0-4, 0-2) in a five-set thriller, 17-25, 16-25, 25-14, 25-22, 25-21, during CCAA Division 3 girls' volleyball action.

Kayla Mansfield had 17 assists, six aces and five kills to lead the Lady Panthers while Ahleen Pollock had 28 assists. Also for Pine Valley, Leah Fancher had four kills, Alex Bentham four aces, Aaron Waterman four blocks and Kayce Abers three blocks in the win.

For the Lady Red Dragons, Nickara Liddell had 16 kills, 11 digs and two aces while Sierra Speranza had 15 assists, five digs and two aces. Jessie Babbage had 15 digs, six aces and three kills in the loss while Taylor Satalno charted 33 digs.

Ripley 19 13 16

RIPLEY - Christine Blidy's 22 assists and one kill paced the North Collins Lady Eagles (2-0) to a 25-19, 25-13, 25-16 victory over Ripley (1-1) on Tuesday in CCAA Division 4 action.

Jasmine Filkov contributed with two aces and six kills and Beth Kibler recorded an ace and six kills in the win. Nicole Torrey finished with two aces and six kills for North Collins.
