Hammerhead Learn
to Swim Program
The Hammerhead Swim Club will be offering beginner and intermediate swim lessons at the Fredonia State Natatorium beginning Oct. 1.
The classes meet on Mondays and Wednesdays or on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:15 to 6:55 p.m. for beginner classes or 7 to 7:45 p.m. for intermediate classes. The cost is $55 for a total of eight classes.

Basketball ref
classes under way
High school basketball officiating classes have begun. They take place Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in Room 250 at Jamestown High School. The classes cover New York state girls and boys basketball officiating rules and techniques.
The 10-week course is offered Wednesday nights for prospective officials, and is taught by International Association of Approved Basketball Officials Board 39 Interpreter Roger Mactavish. For more information, call MacTavish at 664-6339 or 502-759-5697.
The course ends with the IAABO national rules examination in November.
Kids Night Out
Fredonia State will host Kids Night out Friday at the Steele Hall?gymnasium.
The event is open to anyone in grades 1-6.
Football, basketball, kickball, soccer and swimming will be played.
The event lasts from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Dunkirk Football Fundraiser
The Dunkirk High School varisty football team will hold a fundraiser Monday, Sept. 17 from 4-7:30 p.m. at Pizza Village on Lake Shore Drive in Dunkirk.
The meal includes a slice of pizza, five wings and a soda for $7.95. Dine in and take out are both available.

Wednesday Morning Ladies Purple Posse League - This week's game was team scramble. The winning team was Audrey Parker and Barb VanDette. The Purple Posse will be playing again Sept. 19, meeting at 9:30 a.m. and teeing off at 10 a.m. The rest of the month the game will be a scramble with a shot gun start. All skill levels are welcome.

Shorewood Country Club
Rudi Adamczak recorded his first career Hole-In-One at Shorewood Country Club on Tuesday. He used an 8-iron on the sixth hole which was playing 130 yards. The shot was witnessed by Gary Richardson.
Pinehurst Golf Course
Mat Schuster recorded a hole-in-one on No. 7 at Pinehurst Golf Course on Wednesday. He used a 6-iron on the 145-yard, par-3. The shot was witnessed by Nolan Swanson and Andy Portman.
