MAYVILLE - Courtney Hewes scored two goals to lift the Chautauqua Lake Lady Thunderbirds (1-1, 1-0) to a 3-1 victory over the West Valley Lady Panthers (1-2, 1-1) Wednesday in CCAA Division 3 girls' high school soccer.
Hewes' second goal was assisted by Emily Corwin which gave the home team a 2-0 lead at halftime.
In the second half, Chautauqua Lake's Kourtney Shearer scored an unassisted goal to put the game away.
Rachael Fortney made six saves between the pipes for the win.
The Lady Thunderbirds return to action Friday when they travel to Pine Valley.
