Lady Hornets get back on winning track

BEMUS?POINT?- Sydney Youngberg had five kills and three aces and Alisha Szumigala added seven kills Thursday as Forestville evened its league record at 1-1 and went to 3-1 overall by toppling host Maple Grove (0-3, 0-5), 25-4, 25-17, 25-22, in Division 3 girls volleyball.

Emily Gilman added four kills and five aces, Ryanne Dugan had 21 assists, Baylee Gloss recorded seven digs and Kendra Silleman had five aces for the Lady Hornets.

For Maple Grove, Sierra Speranza delivered 12 digs and two assists, Nikara Liddell had three kills, three digs and two blocks, and Taylor Satalino recorded two kills and 22 digs.

Forestville also won the junior varsity match.

Chautauqua Lake 25 25 25

Panama 7 19 13

PANAMA - Jenna Einink had 19 kills, nine blocks and five digs as undefeated Chautauqua Lake (2-0, 3-0) topped Panama (1-1, 2-1), 25-7, 25-19, 25-13.

Sydney Milliman added two aces, five kills and a block for Chautauqua Lake while Tara Hunt had an ace, two kills, 12 assists and eight digs; Ashton Albanesius had four kills, six digs and Katie Meadows two kills, a block and 15 assists.

Cora Monroy delivered four kills and five blocks, Carly Abbate had seven assists, three digs and ace, and Crystal Swanson four kills and block for Panama.

Panama took the junior varsity match by scores of 25-15, 25-18.

Division 4

BROCTON - Brocton earned its first win of the season with a CCAA Division 4 volleyball victory over Ripley on Thursday.

Ripley won the first game, 25-15, before Brocton reeled off three straight wins, 25-10, 25-20, 25-19.

Kayla Peting led Brocton with 15 service points and eight assists whlie Kyoko Inagaki added six service points, seven spikes and five kills. Kayde Putcher added 14 service points in the win.

The Lady Eagles were paced by Kalishia Swoger's 14 service points, two aces, two kills, six assists, two digs and a block. Nikki Shang recorded four aces, five kills, a dig and a block.

Brocton returns to action today with a home tilt against Maple Grove.

North Collins 25-25-25

Clymer 18-10-15

NORTH COLLINS - North Collins (3-0) stayed undefeated in CCAA Division 4 girls volleyball with a 25-18, 25-10, 25-15 dismantling of Clymer (2-2), Thursday.

Christine Blidy dished out 25 assists and added five aces in the Lady Eagles' victory.

Jasmine Silkov recorded six kills and eight aces and teammate Arrika Bley added seven kills and three aces for North Collins.

Clymer was led by Dani Reinwald, who produced nine kills, three digs and two blocks in the loss.

North Collins returns to action Tuesday with a trip to Ellicottville.

SOUTH DAYTON - Pine Valley and Westfield took Thursday's CCAA Division 2 high school volleyball match about as far as it could go.

When all was said and done, it was the Lady Panthers (2-0, 2-1) who emerged with a victory with scores of 25-23, 24-26, 23-25, 25-13, 27-25.

Aaren Waterman led the way for Pine Valley with her four aces, five digs, nine blocks and two kills. Kayla Mansfield added three kills, five digs and 12 assists while Arlene Pollock contributed 30 assists and Casey Abers recorded three blocks.

Hilary Nelson put up impressive numbers for the Lady Wolverines (0-2, 0-3) with 10 kills, five blocks, five assists and eight aces. Madison Mathews also had a nice all-around game with six kills, two blocks, five assists and a pair of aces. Jen LaPorte added 13 assists, three aces and a block.

Pine Valley returns to actions today with a trip to Clymer.
