Get rid of the chaos in Forestville and you can find a very small piece of progress.
Earlier this week, the village printed flyers that were distributed to residents' doors announcing a meeting for Wednesday morning at 7:15. Not convenient for many residents, but still a notice - even if not totally legal.
At 7:15 a.m., however, the meeting did not start. Some in attendance asked why only to find out the board was waiting for another member for the meeting to begin. That board member was running late because she was driving a school bus.
It begs these questions: Why would somebody in Forestville schedule a meeting - on short notice - at a time inconvenient for many in the community and for one Village Board member who was working?
Once the meeting did begin - 30 minutes late - a key village item on water was approved.
But when it comes to dysfunction, a number of our municipalities, including Forestville, are just as bad, if not worse, than Albany.
Unfortunately for local taxpayers, that is no laughing matter.
