Sheriffs issue warning
The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department is issuing a warning to residents of the towns of Portland, Dunkirk and Pomfret - lock your vehicle.
The warning comes in light of numerous car larcenies in those towns from unlocked vehicles during the evening and overnight hours during recent weeks. If residents observe any suspicious activity, they are encouraged to call the Sheriff's Department by using 911 or calling 672-5151. Those with information regarding this investigation can call 753-4428 or 753-4915.
Fredonia Police Department
Tyler J. Sam, 19, of Spring Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sept. 8. At 5:05 p.m. police observed Sam stopped at a stop sign on Chestnut Street smoking marijuana out of a pipe. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Matthew H. Coe, 20, of Frewsburg was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol, littering and having an open container on Sept. 9. At 1:45 a.m. police observed Coe with an open container on Water Street which he threw down to the ground. He was released on an appearance ticket.
Jordan A. Goold, 18, of Bemus Point and Gregory D. Winter, 19, of Jamestown were charged with unlawful possession of alcohol, having an open container and littering on Sept. 9. Both males were observed in the parking lot of 79 Water St. with open containers. Both males also threw the cans of beer to the ground. Both were released on an appearance ticket.
Ebenezer O. Oyenola, 21, of McGinnis Hall, SUNY Fredonia was charged with false personation on Sept. 9. At 1:49 a.m. police responded to a fight at 70 Brigham Road. Police found Oyenola running away from the scene. When confronted by police, Oyenola gave police a false name. He was held on $500 bail.
Eli N. Dietrich, 19, of Center Road was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol, having an open container and littering on Sept. 9. At 12:11 a.m. police observed Dietrich at the corner of Central Avenue and Day Street holding an open container which was discarded to the ground. Dietrich was released on an appearance ticket.
Six people were charged following a noise complaint at a residence on East Main Street. Erin C. Edson, 21, Kendra Korzeniewski, 21, Megan Cutter, 21, Renee C. Perreaud, 20, Carly M. Perreaud, 20, and Madison M. Frink, 21, all of East Main Street, were all charged with violating the noise ordinance on Sept. 8. At 12:23 a.m. police were called to their residence for the complaint of loud music and voices coming from inside. All were released on an appearance ticket.
Ryan M. Spence, 22, of Cassadaga was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and speeding on Sept. 9. At 12:58 p.m. police observed Spence traveling 47 mph in a 30 mph zone on Water Street. He was released on his own recognizance.
Zachary Cole, 18, of Spring Street was charged with violating the noise ordinance on Sept. 10. At 2:29 p.m. police could hear loud bass coming from Cole's vehicle on East Main Street. Cole was released on an appearance ticket.
Edwin Martinez, 36, of Dunkirk was charged with having no insurance, having a suspended registration and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Sept. 12. The LPR hit on Martinez's suspended registration on Central Avenue. He was released on his own recognizance and the vehicle was towed.
Bobby Morris, 33, of Sinclairville was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle on Sept. 13. Morris turned himself into police after leaving the scene of a property damage accident at Walmart. He was held on $250 bail. Police also found an outstanding warrant for the city of Jamestown. He was held pending arraignment.
