Loretta I. Papierski, 89, of Dunkirk, died Saturday (September 15, 2012) at the Absolut at Eden.
She was born May 6, 1923, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late John & Anna (Kwapich) Sitko.
A Licensed Practical Nurse, Loretta retired from Brooks Memorial Hospital where she worked for 19 years.
Her memberships include St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church.
Surviving is her daughter Paula Kay (David) Hibbard of Hamburg, grandchildren Kara (Aaron) Berfield of Eden, Kyle Hibbard of Hamburg, great-granddaughters Kaleigh and Kelsey Berfield, along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Stanley J. Papierski who died March 15, 2005; a son Sgt. John J. Papierski US Army who died September 23, 1979; sisters Dorothy Szalkowski, Genevieve (Rys) Styborski, Mary (Rys) Konrek, brothers Thomas Reise, John Rys, and Walter Rys.
There will be no visitation.
A Mass of Christian buri-al will be celebrated Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church. Interment will be in St. Hyacinth's Cemetery.
Loretta loved dogs and would like memorials to be made to the Lake Shore Humane Society, P.O. Box 12, Fredonia, 14063.
