Makuch has fine performance in Lady Hornets’ win

FORESTVILLE - Jessica Makuch had possibly her best game as a varsity member for the Forestville Lady Hornets (2-1, 4-1) with six kills and four blocks in defeating Panama (1-2, 2-3), 25-12, 25-13, 25-19, Tuesday in CCAA Division 3 girls' high school volleyball.

Emily Gilman contributed in the win with seven kills and five digs while Cherish Pope had an all-around stellar performance with eight kills, two blocks, two aces and two digs for the winners. Baylee Gloss added four aces and was behind the line serving for a 19-straight point stretch. Kendra Silleman had eight digs and three aces and Ryanne Dugan's 27 assists and Sierra Tweedie's seven digs were key in the victory.

The Lady Panthers were led by Cora Monroy's two aces, four kills and four blocks. Crystal Swanson finished with five kills and Carly Abbate had 13 assists in defeat.

Maple Grove 25 25 25

Westfield 19 20 13

WESTFIELD - The Maple Grove Lady Red Dragons (2-5, 2-3) made quick work of the Westfield Lady Wolverines (1-5, 0-3) on Tuesday in CCAA Division 3 girls' high school volleyball.

The scores were 25-19, 25-20, 25-13.

The Lady Red Dragons were led by Jessie Babbage's seven kills, six digs and four aces. Taylor Satalino added six kills, 29 digs and an ace while Taylor Whalen finished with 12 assists, six digs and two aces. Nickara Liddell had four kills, 10 digs and four aces for Maple Grove.

No stats for Westfield were reported.

Westfield hosts Forestville on Thursday.

Division 4

Clymer 25 25 25

Brocton 20 15 12

CLYMER - Alison Wahl had 11 points, including an ace, but that was not nearly enough as Clymer (4-2) handled Brocton (1-4) in straight sets Tuesday, during CCAA Division 4 girls' volleyball action, 25-20, 25-15, 25-12.

Also for the Lady Bulldogs, Kelly Miller had six spikes and two kills.

For Clymer, Jo-Linda Rhodes had eight points and eight assists while Marissa Trisket had 11 points and Samantha Nickerson eight points.
