I live a very interesting life - many times I don't even have to leave the house. Like yesterday, I had interesting company. First a friend and I exchanged books; then a friend dropped in with a beautiful smile and desserts; and lastly, a good friend walked in with good conversation and an invitation for dinner. David is well read and computer smart. He brings in new things that shock me. Here are some of the things he told me.
First of all, he said, it doesn't matter who wins this election, both Mitt Romney and Barack Obama believe in a one-world government. This policy will lead to the destruction of America. He told me that of the 44 presidents that we have had, 42 of them are related. Even the Bush family is related to Obama! It's the blood line that they preserve. He said that President John F. Kennedy was aware of it all and he was exposing it. He was going back to the gold standard system. David said that just because this group monitors the Federal Reserve doesn't mean the government is involved. I always thought that federal meant Washington backed.
Then David said that engineers who worked on 9/11 are coming out and saying our government was involved in 9/11. It gave them an excuse to invade Iraq. Remember how fast President Bush got us involved? I don't believe we should be there. I don't believe wars settle anything! They are just excuses for military men to get famous and for military businesses to get rich! Then of course, there is the media who keeps us informed or misinformed. Are they being used, too?
Then there's the story of James Dobson who built up a huge listenership of millions of people and he was ousted, but he's going to go down fighting. Now where does all of this leave me and my world? Some truths never change. Love is good and powerful. If I live the life of love, truth, respect, joy, generosity, giving praise, laughing a lot and being fearless, all these things will make me feel good and make others feel good.
P.S. I haven't read these things myself. They seem far-fetched. Have you read or heard this stuff? Call me if you have.
I know one thing I'm going to do is support the League of Women Voters. I trust them and I want them to go after the Supreme Court and make them repeal that law that allows the candidates to spend as much as they want on campaigns. That allows candidates to buy elections. How come they can afford millions for that, but can't afford money for roads and bridges? The positive things are shut down and the greedy things are allowed. Many legitimate voters will be denied the right to vote. Who is going to support them? Will League members be at the polls? Don't forget, people, we still have power at the grassroots level only if we go out and vote! Don't let them scare you away. Fight back!
Oh, I forgot to tell you. David took me to DeJohn's Spaghetti House for dinner. I introduced him to their spaghetti and he likes it next to mine. I always like to help local businesses. Like in October, a group of original Westfield friends and local friends are getting together at the White Inn. Great! I won't have far to go! Ha!
