Dunkirk police say Brandon C. Washington, 27, of Dunkirk, is still on the loose and considered armed and dangerous after a shooting incident Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities believe he is still in the general area and may be operating a 2003 red Ford Expedition bearing N.Y. license plate number FJY-8504. He is described as a black male, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs about 215 pounds. Anyone with information about Washington's whereabouts should call 911 immediately. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Dunkirk police at 366-2266 or the tip line at 363-0313.
Washington is currently wanted on an arrest warrant for second-degree assault, a class D felony and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, a class C felony. It is alleged Washington shot a man in the leg in the vicinity of the 600 block of Main Street. The victim was treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and was later released.

A search warrant was also executed at a residence on the 500 block of Leopard Street as part of the investigation.
