The Monarchs varsity squad (4-1) recovered from an early three-run deficit, exploding for 11 runs in the first inning and cruised to victory over the Saints from Hamburg.

Daniel Barnes (double, three runs) led the hit parade with three while Charlie Roth (three runs), Brian Dempsey (three runs) and Lucas Porpiglia (two runs) added two hits each. Noah Fleckenstein, Jack Gaken and Jack Penharlow each scored twice in the win.

Barnes, Gaken and Dempsey shared mound duties.

Fredonia High School football

For the Fredonia High School football game at Akron on Friday, Oct. 5, the Akron Central School will be taking non-perishable food items at the gate as admission to the football game.

Fredonia fans are encouraged to support their effort and take one or two non-perishable food items to the game that evening in lieu of paying an admission fee.

Silver Creek Athletic Hall of Fame

The Silver Creek Athletic Hall of Fame committee will be hosting the first Annual Black Knight Hall of Fame Golf Tournament on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Tri-County Country Club.

There will be a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and all proceeds will go to the development of the Black Knight Athletic Hall of Fame, with the first induction class being announced this coming spring and recognized next fall.

If you are interested in playing, registration forms can be found on the district website, www.silvercreekschools.org, and returned to Sean Helmer at the school. You may also register at the tournament. For any questions, contact Sean Helmer at 934-2603.

CCHA Senior Men's League B Division

Columbus J&J 4, Coughlans 1

Joe Hallmark and Mark Jacobik each had a goal and an assist in this week four matchup against Coughlan's.

Nick Guise also had a and Jon Marsillo added an assist.

Scoring the lone goal for the Pub was Matt Traniello, aided by Pat Westin.

Wicked Glen 5, Roswell/Cliffstar 2

Dave Nagel had two goals in WG's win over Roswell/Cliffstar.

Bill Clark, Brian Denea and Lee Andolina all had two-point nights, with a goal and an assist each. Chris Schurr had two assists and Rob Strickler had one.

R/C's first goal was scored by Matt Dorler, assisted by Mike Engdahl and Matt Nickle. Nickle also helped out on the second goal, scored by Dan Nickle.

CCHA Senior Men's League A Division

Lil McGill's 2, PDubs/Heenans 2

Matt Mincin and Rob Bajdas each scored a goal for Lil McGill's. Assists went to Jerry Tramuta, Mark Zaffalon and Ron Friend.

Phil DiFrancisco and Matt Ginley each put a point on the board for Heenans with Josh Polak assisting on each.

BJ's Cafe 10,

Brian Wojcinski scored half of BJ's goals in their week four win over DP's.

Mike Nelson had two goals, four assists and the other points were put up by Drew Yelich, Scott Wojcinski and Jay Burnett.

Assists were earned by Tom O'Connor Sr. (two), Burnett (two), Andrew Wheelock (three), S.Wojcinski (two) and Don Schiedel. Jeff Carlson had the hat trick and two assists for DP's, Byron Vanzile and Brandon Renckens each contributed a goal and assist, Garrett Boner had four helpers and Ben Ross and Spencer Koepple each had one.
