Westfield holds off Brocton in five sets

WESTFIELD - The Westfield Lady Wolverines (0-6, 2-8) edged the Brocton Lady Bulldogs (1-8, 1-9) in five sets Monday in girls' non-league high school volleyball action.

Scores of the game were not available.

Marissa Okerlund led Westfield with five kills, two blocks and five aces while Andrea Cooke added one kill, two blocks and five aces. Madison Mathews finished with two kills and four aces for the winners.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Kayla Peting's 11 assists. Andrea Markham charted six kills, four blocks and two aces in a losing effort.

SILVER CREEK - Allison Harford's six digs, three kills and one block was not enough as the Silver Creek Black Knights (2-8) fell to Allegany-Limestone (5-3), 25-21, 25-14, 25-17, Monday in CCAA Division 2 girls' high school volleyball.

Mary Williams added four kills and three blocks in a losing effort.

The Lady Gators were led by Abby Watson's 10 kills, three aces and two digs.

Silver Creek travels to Portville on Wednesday.

SINCLAIRVILLE - The Cassadaga Valley Lady Cougars couldn't hang with Portville (7-1, 10-1) and fell in three straight games, Monday in CCAA Division 2 girls high school volleyball.

Shawana Miller led Cassadaga Valley (2-7, 3-7) with five kills, but it was the Lady Panthers who came out on top, 25-13, 25-18, 25-14.

Britta Howe added three kills for the Lady Cougars while Maya Sischo dished out eight assists in the loss.

Justine Zink and Shaina Griffin combined for 23 kills to spark Portville. Taylor Lee added 23 assists and five kills.

The Lady Cougars won the jayvee contest, 18-25, 25-9, 25-18.

Cassadaga Valley hosts Southwestern on Wednesday in its 'Pink Out' game.
