Twenty years ago - 1992

Dunkirk Radiator Corporation President Thomas Reed has been selected to receive the Northern Chautauqua Chamber of Commerce 1992 Person of the Year Award. Active in many organizations, he serves as chairman of the Brooks Hospital board and is a member of the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency. He is the current vice president of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation board. A Dunkirk native, he is married to the former Margaret Mead.

Thirty years ago - 1982

Frank Kuznicki was assigned as Dunkirk's first animal control officer in 1969 after the city's new dog leash law went into effect. While he still spends most of his time handling stray dogs, Mr. Kuznicki also handles many calls from city residents who have problems with cats, skunks, raccoons, opossums, bats, bees and even a porcupine.

Forty years ago - 1972

Patton's Appliance Store and Lighting Center is holding its grand opening at the Bennett Road, Fredonia store.

The Rev. James M. Daley has been appointed administrator of St. Patrick's Church in Brocton.

Fifty years ago 1962

The Queen of the Valley Rebekah Lodge 487 of South Dayton celebrated its 50th anniversary recently with a turkey dinner.
