ELLICOTTVILLE -Virginia L. Twichell, 86, of 4 Wheel Drive, Ellicottville, passed away Tuesday (Oct. 2, 2012) at her home.
She was born Aug. 7, 1926 in Buffalo, NY the daughter of the late Gordon and Dora (Archibald)
Lawrence.
Mrs. Twichell was married for 65 years to Charles Twichell, who survives.
She had worked at Becky's in Gowanda, NY for many years. She was a longtime member of Holimont, the United Church, and the Alley Katz, all of Ellicottville.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Mark (Michelle) Twichell of Fredonia, NY and Tod (Sue) Twichell of Millinocket, Maine; a daughter, Nancy (Brad) Taylor of Ellicottville; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, David Lawrence of California and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Joan Moore.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at 2 p.m. from the United Church in Ellicottville, NY with Rev. Deb Packard officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homecare and Hospice or the United Church of Ellicottville, NY.
Arrangements are under the direction of Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City St., Little Valley, NY.
