ANGOLA - The fourth annual Lake Shore Senior High School Academy of Business & Finance Induction Ceremony was held Sept. 26 in the media center.
Eighteen new sophomore students and their parents were welcomed to the three-year program by teachers, counselors, administrators and business partners.
Guest speakers included Fred Press, National Academy Foundation (NAF) representative; Karen Erickson, Advisory Board Member; Kathy Ballard, Niagara Frontier Industry Education Council (NFIEC) Business Partner; James Przepasniak, Superinten-dent; and Matthew Brzozowiec, Senior Academy Student.
Press spoke to the students about the National Program and the expectations and requirements for the financial certificate.
Brzozowiec, a senior, impressed upon the students the positive impact the program had from his own personal experiences and gave some light-hearted advice to sophomores on how to achieve success. Erickson spoke to the parents and students about the important role the advisory board members played and Ballard went over the electronic portfolio and the importance of preparing students for internships and the world of work.
