St. Hyacinth’s Class of 1962 gathers to celebrate 50-year reunion

October 4, 2012
The OBSERVER

The members of the Class of 1962 from St. Hyacinth's School recently gathered to celebrate their 50-year re-union.

Several classmates and their spouses attended the 4 p.m. Mass at St. Hyacinth's Church, celebrated by the pastor, Father Matthew Nycz, and the concelebrant, Father Walter Matuszak, who was an assistant pastor when the Class of 1962 attended St. Hyacinth's. Remembered in their prayers were deceased classmates Dolores Wawro, Nancy Lazarczyk, Katie Roesch and Tom Dobek.

A buffet dinner followed at the First Ward Falcon Club. Fr. Matuszak said "grace," stating that he hoped to be back for the class's 75th. After the prayer, a moment of silence was observed for their deceased classmates; the sisters who taught them, Sr. Gaudia, Sr. Bernada, Sr. Benita, Sr. Alphonse, Sr. Martina, Sr. Juvenalia, and Sr. Silveria; priests, Fr. John Sliwinski and Fr. John Suplicki; organist, John Dubnicki; janitor, Joseph Dolski; and school nurse, Mrs. Nevlock.
