The Fredonia Hillbillies (11-2) blanked the Dunkirk Lady Marauders (0-11), 5-0, Thursday in CCAA Division 1 girls' high school tennis.
"Fredonia has an awesome team this year," Dunkirk coach Greg Catalano said. "They are just really terrific players. They are young and will have a nice group the next few years. They were on the top of their game. It was a learning experience for Dunkirk."
In singles action, Dunkirk was unable to earn a point. In first singles, Fredonia's Geogianna Gens blanked Josalyn Szwejbka, 6-0, 6-0. In second singles, Baylee Tarnowski defeated Crystal Muller, 6-0, 6-0 while in third singles, Lauren Millson downed Ally Clement, 6-0, 6-0.
In first doubles, Dana Wirojratana and Marina Kessler were victors over Yadira Bautista and Ashley Rojas, 6-0; 6-0. In second doubles, Cheyanne Gifford and Sarah Zinni downed Anna Bautista and Sydney Wyant, 6-1, 6-1.
Dunkirk returns today when it hosts Maple Grove.
