Local correctional officer charged with promoting contraband
German Lesmes, age 53, of Fredonia was charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband.
This charge is the result of a joint investigation conducted by the State Police, New York State Inspector General's Office, New York State Department of Correctional Services and the Chautauqua County District Attorney's Office over an eight-month period.
Lesmes is a correctional officer at Lakeview Correctional Facility in Brocton. He is accused of bringing contraband into the facility and providing it to several inmates. The contraband is described as food items which is a violation of the New York State Correctional Services rules and regulations.
Mr. Lesmes was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Town of Portland Court at a later date and released.

SILVER CREEK - On Sept. 19, A Silver Creek man was charged with menacing a police officer or peace officer, disorderly conduct and second-degree harassment.
Around 11:30 p.m. deputies responded to an address on Allegany Road in the Town of Hanover to take a complaint from Ronald Viscuso. While deputies were speaking with Viscuso, he became very agitated and disorderly and began allegedly screaming obscenities in the roadway of a trailer park. Viscuso was about to be placed under arrest when he ran into his home. When deputies went inside Viscuso's home, Viscuso allegedly displayed a knife and another sharp object and began approaching deputies. Deputies were able to secure the weapons and Viscuso was taken into custody and charged.
While in custody, Viscuso allegedly attempted to kick a deputy and scratched a deputy and was additionally charged with second-degree harassment. Viscuso was arraigned in Hanover Court and was committed to Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail or $20,000 property bond.
On Sept. 28 a Fredonia man was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief after a report of an altercation.
Around 2:10 a.m. the sheriff's office responded to a disturbance on Spoden Road in the Town of Pomfret. During the investigation into the altercation, it was determined that Roger Beaujean, 27, had hit the hood of a car, causing the hood to be dented. Beaujean was issued an appearance ticket and is to appear in Pomfret court at a later date.
