OBSERVER Staff Report
For generations, the OBSERVER has provided a comprehensive daily report of happenings in the Dunkirk-Fredonia and northern Chautauqua County region.
Adding an Apple OS application to ways readers can get their news is the latest media the newspaper is using to reach users whenever and wherever they want their news.
The App joins the print product and www.observertoday.com as ways you can get your news. All three are unique products, providing both news and special features.
The huge popularity of the Apple iPhone and iPad pushed us to develop the app for them first. The combined traffic that our Web site gets from the two devices is far more than from all other mobile devices combined. All mobile users, including those on Apple devices still will be able to access our site using a web browser.
Content to our main site, our mobile site located at mobile.observertoday.com and to our new app is updated daily.
Visiting our web site with any device running the Apple OS system will trigger a screen urging readers to download the app.
You also can search for the Dunkirk OBSERVER in the app store or visit www.observertoday.com/iphone and be redirected to the correct site.
With the app, readers can read stories, write comments, search and take polls.
"We are please to extend the reach of our award-winning and trusted newspaper to our readers who have long depended on us to let them know what is happening in their community, said John D'Agostino, OBSERVER publisher. "The addition of the iPhone app gives us yet another way to serve our readers."
