Women’s Retreat at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish set

October 6, 2012
The OBSERVER

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will host a Women's Retreat on Saturday, Oct. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Northern Chautauqua Catholic School's Resource Room. A luncheon will be held at noon.

Carol Mullins of Quiet Whispers Ministry will conduct this morning of reflection for women of the area. The theme of the retreat is "Martha and Mary: Making Time for Me to Make Time for God." These two women of the Bible spent much time with Jesus during his ministry. Participants will, as Carol says, "laugh and learn as they teach us about choosing 'the better portion' as the scripture story tells us." This is a lively and entertaining look at these two biblical women and how they minister to us in our daily lives. Carol tells us, "If you know a busy woman, this program is for (her)."

Carol is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She is the founder and president of Quiet Whispers Ministry and travels to present retreats and days of reflection. She has been studying scripture for over 30 years, including four years of formal study. Carol works at Roswell Park Cancer Institute, offering retreats and days of reflection in the evenings and on weekends. She says "(her) day job feeds (her) family, while the ministry work feeds [her] soul." She lives with her husband Bob in Hamburg. Together they enjoy bike riding, being on the water of Lake Erie, and spending time with their large family. Carol is also a musician, and has produced several CDs filled with her own compositions relating to scripture themes.

Registration for this event is ongoing. Call the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton office at 366-1750 to register. The Day of Reflection is open to all women of the area. There will be a $5 fee at the door.
