The CIAO Board of Directors met Tuesday evening at the JCC Conference Center. President Sam Crisanti presided. There are many activities scheduled this month.
Dr. Chiara DeSanti's Italian Club at SUNY Fredonia is planning many activities. The first one is on Monday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. in Thompson Hall. They will be discussing "Italian Identity." On Oct. 18, the club will show a movie called "Angela." This will take place in Thompson Hall. Then on Oct. 25, the club will host a dinner in the Williams Center in the Horizon Room located in the basement. The price will be $14. The dinner includes salad, cheeses and dessert. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. Guests are asked to bring their own place setting and any beverage other than coffee.
Also mark your calendars for Nov. 2 for Dr. DeSanti's cooking class. This year everyone in the class will participate in preparing the dinner. This will be an authentic Tuscan dinner.
On Oct. 12 to commemorate Columbus Day, CIAO will host a tureen dinner at the St. Joseph Hall in Fredonia. There is no cost. Everyone is asked to bring an Italian dish to pass. Dinner will start at 6 p.m. Guests are asked to bring their own place setting. Coffee will be provided and other beverages will need to be provided by the guest. Call 679-4772 to reserve a spot.
