Robert W. Campbell Sr., 52, of Jamestown was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, unsafe passing, speeding, failure to keep right and having an open container in a motor vehicle on Friday in the town of Pomfret. At 10:04 p.m., deputies pulled Campbell over on Route 60 for speeding and unsafe passing. After an investigation, it was found that Campbell was intoxicated. A passenger in the vehicle Beverly L. Campbell, 52, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree criminal contempt for breaking a valid order of protection. Both were released to appear in the Town of Pomfret Court at a later date.
RIPLEY - David L. Tackett Jr., 17, of Ripley was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, failure to use turn signal, unlicensed operation and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Saturday. At 12:04 a.m. police found Tackett's vehicle violating a traffic law while investigation a suspicious vehicle complaint. Tackett's vehicle also matched a description of an earlier suspicious vehicle complaint. He was also found to be driving after 9 p.m. on a class DJ license without proper supervision, and it was found his license had been suspended for failure to pay a fine. He was released on appearance tickets.
POLAND - Ramona L. Butler, 50, of Frewsburg was charged with driving while intoxicated, DWI per se, having an open container of alcohol and failure to dim headlights on Saturday. At 1 a.m. deputies observed a southbound vehicle on Route 62 for failure to dim their high beams for oncoming traffic. The vehicle was stopped and operator Butler was found to have an open alcoholic beverage in the passenger compartment. She was released on an appearance ticket for Poland Town Court.
ELLICOTT - Jeffry C. Faltisco, 21, of Jamestown was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle on Saturday. At 2:30 a.m. Faltisco was a passenger in a vehicle stopped by deputies on Gerry-Levant Road. He was released on an appearance ticket for Ellicott Town Court.
