Gowanda drops Jamestown in four

Jamestown started out well, but lost the final three games to Gowanda during CCAA Division 1 girls' volleyball at Jefferson Middle School.

The Lady Red Raiders (2-7, 2-8) defeated Gowanda, 25-23, in the first game and were beaten the final three games, 25-21, 25-23, 30-28.

C. J. Sawatis had 12 assists, three kills, two blocks and 11 digs, Caleb Issac five kills, a block and a dig and Jen Stebbins four kills and six digs for the Lady Panthers.

For Jamestown, Chrisanna Green delivered 12 kills and two blocks, Jessica Pace three kills and 12 digs, Ashley Butman 11 digs and two aces and Emily Kuropatwinski 22 assists.

SILVER CREEK - Shawana Miller's 20 kills paced Cassadaga Valley (3-7, 4-8) past Silver Creek (1-9, 2-10), Wednesday in CCAA Division 2 volleyball action.

Kaitlyn Latki added three kills and a pair of aces while Maya Sischo dished out 23 assists as the Lady Cougars held on for a 25-21, 20-25, 26-24, 22-25, 25-17 win.

Allison Harford led Silver Creek with 11 kills, three blocks, five digs and three aces. Brooke Birner added 15 kills and three blocks while Cora Utegg recorded 28 assists, two blocks and five digs.

Silver Creek travels to play Salamanca next Wednesday.
