Arkwright sets meeting
ARKWRIGHT - The Arkwright Town Board will have a special meeting of the board Oct. 22 at 7:30 p.m. to reschedule the budget hearing. The new budget hearing will take place on Nov. 5 at 7:30 p.m.
A Night of Wine and Murder
The Ripley Free Library will present a Murder Mystery, "Death is a Cabernet 'Ol Chum," from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Noble Winery, 8630 Hardscrabble Road, Westfield. The audience will help solve the mystery of who murdered famous cabernet vintner Malcom Melee, sorting out the motives and actions of eight shady characters all trying to prove their innocence. Lions Club seeks contributions
Dunkirk Fredonia Lions Club is asking for contributions today and Saturday at Tops and Walmart. Some of the money the club has raised in the past has gone towards scholarships, hearing aids, eye glasses, a smoke alarm program, vision screening at schools, winter jackets and other services.
Barker Library to hold seminar
The Darwin R. Barker Library is holding a seminar entitled "Learn how to search for, checkout, place holds on and download ebooks using your Kindle device and the Chautauqua Cattaraugus Library System's OverDrive service.
The seminar will take place Saturday, Oct. 20, from 2-3:30 p.m. or Tuesday, Oct. 23, from 2-3:30 p.m. Registration is required and class size is limited.
