The parishioners of Blessed Mary Angela parish in Dunkirk (formerly Saints Hyacinth and Hedwig) were treated to a special presentation on the life of the parish patroness, Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowska. On Tuesday evening, the feast of Blessed Mary Angela, Sister Kathryn Mary Elliot, CSSF, of Chicago, Ill., portrayed Blessed Mary Angela Truszkowka's life and trials living in war-torn Poland in the 1800s and her journey to establish the Congregation of Felician Sisters (Sisters of St. Felix).
The one-woman show, entitled "The Life and Times of Blessed Mary Angela, as only she could tell her story," was well-attended by parishioners and friends. Many less-known and interesting facts were presented by Sister Kathryn, who is the archivist and resource historian for the Felician Sisters Archives in Chicago. After the presentation, the congregation sang the "Hymn to Blessed Mary Angela" and individually venerated a relic of the Parish Patroness.
Pastor Rev. Matt Nycz and the Felician Sisters from Blessed Mary Angela parish were very pleased to host this performance and to provide the parishioners the opportunity to ask questions about the parish patroness from Sister Kathryn Mary Elliot. Three parishioners gave personal witness on how Blessed Mary Angela touched theirs and their loved ones' lives, in what they all called "miraculous" ways.

A social followed in the parish Social Center where the parishioners were able to greet Sister Kathryn and express their gratitude for her wonderful presentation.
