Child Care Council to hold workshop

On Oct. 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., the Chautauqua Child Care Council, a program of Chautauqua Opportunities Inc., will host a workshop, "ASD: Improving Social Challenges," presented by the Parent Network of Western New York.

The workshop will be held "live" at Connections South, 2887 Fluvanna-Townline Road in Jamestown and broadcast to Connections North, 10825 Bennett Road in Dunkirk. Participants will have an opportunity to learn about the social challenges for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and will discover strategies to use at home, school and within the community. The workshop is open to the public free of charge.

Collins road closure

Collins Center Zoar Road between School Street and East Becker Road will be closed starting today for the replacement of a box culvert. The closure is expected to last until Nov. 21. No detour will be posted.

Gowanda Neighborhood Watch meeting canceled

The Gowanda Neighborhood Watch meeting has been canceled for Wednesday, Oct. 17. The meeting will be rescheduled at a later date.
