SILVER CREEK - Richard A. Bartlett, 55, of Silver Creek, NY, passed away on Monday, October 15, 2012 at the Roswell Park Cancer Institute in
Buffalo, after a courageous battle with cancer since February. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born in Silver Creek on
October 24, 1956, the son of Alvin and Loueva (Stoll) Bartlett. Rich worked for Davis Electrical Supply Co. of Buffalo as the Vice President of sales for over 20 years. He was a member of the Silver Creek Fire Department for more than 35 years and served as fire chief five times. He also

trained more than 100 people in the fire department to use the "jaws of life" and was the vice president of the Chautauqua County Fire Chiefs Association. Rich also served as the disaster coordinator for the village of Silver Creek and was a major part in the creation of the Citizens
Emergency Response Team after the 2009 flood. In addition, he was the president of the Silver Creek Little League and saw through a major project in renovating the field. He has also conducted the fire prevention program at Silver Creek School for many years, this being the
first year he was unable to do so. Rich enjoyed masonry, and owned the Step and Stone Masonry Co. in Silver Creek. He especially relished his time with family, friends and the community in which he lived and served. Rich is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tammy, two sons: James (Lyndsay) Bartlett and Richard Bartlett, both of Silver Creek; his mother, L. Jean (Darrel) Farnham of Bemus Point; two grandchildren,
William and Ellayna Bartlett; a sister, Jennifer (Barone) Maly of Clarkston, MI; a mother-in-law and father-in-law, Leilaunie and Lawrence Setera of Silver Creek; also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, stepbrothers, stepsisters, nieces and nephews.He is predeceased by his
father, Alvin L. Bartlett, a stepfather, David S. Barone, and a brother, Scott Bartlett.Prayers will be held Friday, Oct. 19, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel in Silver Creek, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Silver
