Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps thank fans for support

October 18, 2012
By DONALD GORKA , The OBSERVER

The Western New York Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps would like to thank our friends and fans for the support and encouragement given to them after a tumultuous year this past 2012 season. The Corps never expected such an outpouring of caring that will be forever in the memories of all those individuals who participated.

Fully realizing our need to continue in some capacity, the members and staff would like to announce that our Corps thinks "It Will be Keen to be Seen in 2013." The show must go on.

For some people, Drum Corps is a pastime. For others it's all they know. In Drum and Bugle Corps, things will happen that you wish would not have happened. But they did. Drum and Bugle Corps is something special. So, to those of you who don't know whether to march again with us, remember the good times and the friendships that will never be forgotten.

Under the fine tutelage of our music instructor, Sean Bartlett, our Corps will have its first rehearsal to kick off the 2013 season at 7:30 p.m. today in the Frank Acquavia American Legion Post 1344.

After the final parade of this season in Silver Creek some past members of the corps and a few new potential members said they wanted to join for the next season. So, to those who said this, we hope to see you there. Those of you who wanted to get introduced to Drum and Bugle Corps, now is your chance. Openings exist in the horn line, drum line, and color guard. Come join us as we "take the next step."

Donald Gorka is a Dunkirk resident.
