The OBSERVER

JAMESTOWN - A Jamestown man has been charged with making and using counterfeit $20 bills.

Investigators from the Jamestown Police Department have arrested Michael B. Gordon, 22, of Jamestown, after allegedly using counterfeit $20 bills in the City of Jamestown.

The initial complaint came from a Jamestown pizza establishment which made a delivery to Gordon's residence for pizza totaling $60, for which he allegedly paid with three counterfeit $20 bills. The pizza establishment contacted the Jamestown police. After investigation, a search warrant was issued and police conducted a search of Gordon's residence and did locate more counterfeit money along with computer equipment used to print counterfeit money.

Gordon was charged with first-degree forgery, a felony, and was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail. Additional charges from the Jamestown police are pending, and the U.S. Secret Service, Buffalo office, is also assisting with the investigation.

Any person who believes they may have received a counterfeit bill is asked to contact their local law enforcement agency.
