Riverside Golf Course

Wednesday Travel League - Ron Rys tied the league course record of 73 at Riverside Golf Course in Cambridge Springs, Pa.

Rys tied Tony Nicosia's record and included a 3-under par 33 on the back nine. Paul Olkowski was the B Flight champion. The winner of the Commissioner's Award was Bruce Chrabasz.

Untied birdies were recorded by: A Flight: Gary Richardson (No. 1), Ken Kaus (No. 5), John Bongiovanni (No. 9) and Rys (Nos. 10, 13 & 15). B Flight: Olkowski (No. 6), Gary Hazelton (Nos. 10 & 14), Butch Mackowiak (No. 15) and Dave Franklin (No. 16).

Closest to the pin were Al Etzel (No. 3), Bongiovanni (No. 8), Ron Szach (No. 11) and Ed Tofil (No. 13).

Top point winners were Rys (40) and Bongiovanni and Hazelton (15 each). Season points leaders: 1) Richardson (397), 2) Rys (389), 3) Bongiovanni (368.5), 4) Tofil (339), 5) John Waterman (300.5).

Next week the league makes its first visit to Buffalo Tournament Club in Lancaster. First tee-time is at 9:30 a.m. Players should sign-up with Butch Mackowiak (679-4027) by Monday.

Hollyloft Sponsoring Bike Ride Across

Northern Chautauqua County

Hollyloft is sponsoring their last group bike ride for the fall season on Sunday morning.

Anyone interested is invited to participate in the ride that will tour the northern part of Chautauqua County. Riders will have a choice of the length of the route they would like to ride. Routes will designated to accommodate novice riders through experienced riders. Bicyclists will meet at the City of Dunkirk pier, and will depart on the tours beginning at 10:30 a.m.
