Cathie Bridges of RA Mercer gave the audit presentation to the Pine Valley Central School District.

SOUTH DAYTON - The Pine Valley Central School District has a clean audit. RA Mercer was at a recent board meeting to give the good news.

Cathie Bridges from RA Mercer gave the audit presentation to the board of education. Bridges commended the school for having a smooth transition between business executives. Former business executive Marlene Przybicen retired and Deanna Schettine took her place.

"It went quite well," Bridges said. "It was a smooth transition."

Bridges said the district's revenue is decreasing but the district has reserves accounts they have been using the past few school years. The district has also kept the levy equal. Bridges pointed out one of the high costs for a rural district, such as Pine Valley, is transportation costs.

Bridges also commended the district for having no noncompliance issues and no reports. The only problem Bridges expressed on was the amount in reserves for the district is higher than the state's recommended balance.

"It was a very good year," Bridges said.

Jog for Jimmy will be held on Oct. 27 with registration starting at 9 a.m. Students from the district will also be helping out at the Cherry Creek Village Park from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
