Dunkirk Police car involved in accident

A City of Dunkirk police car was involved in an accident Saturday morning in the D & F Plaza.

A press release has not been issued by the department at the time of printing, but the incident may still be under investigation.

More details will be provided as information is released by the police department.

Fredonia Police Department

Nathan G. Smith, 24, of Newark was charged with violating the sewer ordinance on Oct. 20. At 1:51 a.m. police observed Smith urinating in the parking lot behind 35 Water St. He started to run from police when confronted, but was taken into custody a short distance later. Smith was held on $100 bail.

Matthew J. Eberle, 19, of East Amherst was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol, unlawful possession of marijuana and having an open container on Oct. 20. At 2 a.m. police observed Eberle walking on Water Street with an open container. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana. Eberle was released on an appearance ticket.

Eric T. Ippolito, 21, of West Main Street was charged with possession of a hypodermic instrument on Oct. 20. At 5:22 a.m. police received complaints of a verbal argument in a vehicle next to Lambert Street playground. Police arrived to find Ippolito in an argument with a female, who appeared intoxicated, inside the vehicle. Police also found needles inside the vehicle. Ippolito was held on $500 bail.

Stephen M. Dewey, 20, of Brigham Road was charged with unlawful possession of alcohol, having an open container and littering on Oct. 21. Police observed Dewey walking near the intersection of Temple Street and Central Avenue with an open container that he threw down on the ground. He was released on an appearance ticket.

Christopher Black, 21, of Eagle Street was charged with disorderly conduct on Oct. 21. Police observed Black trying to fight a large group and act disorderly on West Main Street while on patrol. Black was also yelling at the group. He was released on an appearance ticket.

O.R. Delvecchio III, 23, and Harrison A. Malley-Dahning, 21, both of Center Street were charged with violating the noise ordinance on Oct. 24. Police were called to a residence on Center Street for a noise complaint. The noise could be heard from the roadway. Both were released on an appearance ticket.

Donald J. McDermott III, 24, of Silver Creek was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle was charged with Oct. 27. At 1:52 a.m. McDermott was backing up in the west municipal parking lot when he almost hit a police car. His license was found to be suspended and was held on $350 bail.
