Jamestown man charged with burglary
PERRYSBURG - Troopers charged Russell Balles, 33, of Prospect Street in Jamestown with third-degree burglary and possession of burglar tools, following a call for a suspicious vehicle.
Troopers responded to Airview Drive at about 8:15 a.m. after an area resident who was walking spotted the vehicle parked on the abandoned JN Adams grounds. Troopers checked the area and found the perimeter fence was cut and propped open with a metal pipe. Troopers also found two large copper pipes near the fence as well as a backpack filled with cutting hand tools.
Balles was spotted inside the grounds, hiding behind a cement wall. He walked out after realizing he had been seen.
He was processed at state police barracks in Collins and is scheduled for Perrysburg Town Court in November.
Troopers are continuing their investigation since another individual was involved in the incident.

SOUTH DAYTON - On Oct. 21, troopers concluded a two-week investigation with the arrest of two juvenile males for fourth-degree criminal mischief. A 13-year-old from State Route 83 in Cherry Creek and a 14-year-old from Main Street in South Dayton are accused of vandalizing the pavilion on the South Dayton Fire Department grounds the afternoon of Sept. 29.
Troopers used video from the security cameras on the grounds to track down the two. Both are due at Cattaraugus County Probation.
ANGOLA - On Tuesday, troopers charged Elaina Alberti, 31, of North Main Street in Angola on an arrest warrant for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and four bench warrants out of the Town of Brant Court.
Troopers out of the Fredonia barracks also had an arrest warrant for Alberti for issuing bad checks in the Town of Sheridan.
She was arraigned in Brant Court and sent to the Erie County Holding Center on $500 bail.
PERRYSBURG - On Wednesday, troopers charged Shylia Shelly, 24, of Allen Street in Dayton for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, after the vehicle she operated was stopped on North Street for speeding.
A computer check reportedly revealed her driver's license had been revoked a total of seven times, on four different dates, meaning she had been stopped and ticketed four times before.
She was arraigned in Persia Town Court and posted $500 bail. She is due in Perrysburg Town Court in November.
IRVING - On Friday, troopers charged Gerald Johnson, 29, of Versailles Plank Road in Brant for aggravated driving while intoxicated, after the car he was driving was stopped on State Route 438.
Johnson reportedly failed roadside sobriety tests and was processed at state police barracks in Collins. His blood alcohol content was reported to be .23 percent, nearly three times the legal limit of .08 percent.
He is due in Brant Town Court in November.
