Robert A. “Bob” Genthner

WESTFIELD - Robert A. "Bob" Genthner, 70, of North Portage Road, Westfield, died Saturday (Oct. 27, 2012) at home surrounded by his family, following a brief illness.

Bob was born on March 4, 1942 in North Tonawanda, NY, the son of the late Arthur Genthner and Betty (Gallagher) Genthner Kieryczek.

A Westfield resident most all his life, Bob had been employed by Renold, Inc. as a Welder and retired four years ago after 43 years of service. Bob was a well known Breeder of AKC Labrador Retrievers for over 27 years and was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time at his lodge. He was a member of the NRA, the American Kennel Club and the Westfield Fish and Game Club. Bob was a family man who, more than anything else, enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Besides his mother Betty, of Brocton, NY, Bob is suvived by his wife of 50 years, Phyllis (Haskin) Genthner, whom he married on June 9, 1962, his daughter:Kimberly (Lance) Buss of Fairport, NY; and his two sons, Robert (Brenda) Genthner of Westfield, NY; and William (Elizabeth) Genthner of Fort Campbell, KY. He was the very proud grandfather of Casey, Alyssa, Alex, Matthew, Jacob, Caleb, Collin, TJ, Nicki, Kaydi, Kaylee, and Joshua.

Bob is further survived by his two sisters: Diane Cole of Michigan and Jane Deland of Brocton.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Raymond Kieryczek, and his brother, William J. Genthner.

Friends may call on Tuesday, October 30, 2012, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the MASON Funeral Home, 37 Clinton Street, Westfield, NY, and are invited to attend the Funeral Services on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 (NOTE DATE) at 11:00 a.m. at The First Baptist Church of Westfield, 9 Kent Street, Westfield with Rev. Thayne Bodenmiller officiating. Private burial will be in Westfield Cemetery.
