Lake Erie Lutheran Parish, consisting of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Silver Creek and Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Dunkirk, will celebrate at 3 p.m. today with the Upstate New York Synod of the ELCA and the community the ordination into the ministry of word and sacrament of Trevor J. Hahn. Pastor Hahn has been serving Lake Erie Lutheran Parish since Sept. 16. Local clergy representing several faith traditions will also participate in the event.
Ordination in the apostolic tradition confers holy orders upon a trained and prepared person in the ministry. Upstate New York Synod Bishop Marie C. Jerge will preside at the service. A service of installation, the process of publicly calling an ordained minister into the service of the congregation will also be part of the communion service. Pastor Adam Miller-Stubbendick, a member of the Upstate New York Synod Council, will install the newly ordained pastor.
