Blue Devils sweep first SUNYAC weekly awards

Fredonia State swimmers and divers swept the first installment of SUNYAC weekly awards issued today.

Steph Rosa and Ashley Keller were named Women's Swimmer and Women's Diver of the Week, respectively.

On the men's side, John Estanislau and Ryan Fuller were the Week 1 honorees - Estanislau for swimming, Fuller for diving.

Here are the details of all four awards as released today by the SUNYAC:

MEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

John Estanislau has been named SUNYAC Men's Swimmer of the Week. Estanislau was the winner of three individual events in the Blue Devils' season-opening meet Oct. 27 at home vs. Rochester Institute of Technology. He was also part of one winning relay. Estanislau was first in the 200 individual medley relay (2:03.32), the 100 breast stroke (1:02.87), and the 200 breast stroke (2:20.11). He also participated on the winning 200 medley relay (1:40.62).

MEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK

Ryan Fuller has been named SUNYAC Men's Diver of the Week. Fuller was a double-winner Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Blue Devils' season-opening home loss to Rochester Institute of Technology. He scored 260.25 on the 1-meter board, 278.85 on the 3-meter board.

WOMEN'S SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Steph Rosa has been selected as the SUNYAC Women's Diver of the week for the week ending Oct. 28. Rosa won the 100 backstroke (1:01.44) and the 200 backstroke (2:12.72) in the Blue Devils' season-opening 199-95 win over Rochester Institute of Technology held Oct. 27 at Fredonia. She also swam a leg on the winning 200 medley relay (1:55.41).

WOMEN'S DIVER OF THE WEEK

Ashley Keller has been named SUNYAC Women's Diver of the week. Keller won the 1-meter springboard competition and was second in the 3-meter competition Saturday, Oct. 27, in the Blue Devils' 199-95 home win over Rochester Institute of Technology. She recorded 236.30 points to win the 1-meter. Her 3-meter score was 229.35.
