Reed listens to business

October 30, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

Congressman Tom Reed has a main focus - improving our local economy for job growth. Tom has worked tirelessly to remove excessive regulation and promote legislation which will create local jobs. He voted for the Roofing Efficiency Jobs Act, the Grape Act, and the Build Bridges Act.

Reed knows the pressure of meeting a payroll, having been a businessman. He knows that small businesses and manufacturers are the backbone of America. He has toured and met with the owners of dozens of businesses of all sizes and industries. Reed has listened and then studied the problems facing our businesses. He has discovered that there are several barriers to inventing the products and career opportunities of tomorrow.

Tom Reed knows that we must pay down the national debt to create a stable business environment. With uncertainty about the stability of the dollar and our national credit rating, businesses can not properly plan for growth.

Congressman Reed knows that we must remove regulations and repeal Obamacare. Our government needs to get out of the way of job growth. The tax impact of Obamacare on businesses is already costing jobs, especially in small businesses.

Reed believes that manufacturing jobs can blossom again in our state and nationwide if we harness our domestic resources to provide stable, low utility costs upon which our job creators - both large and small - can rely on to compete in the world market. Many good-paying jobs and careers will be created as a result of the development of these resources.

Upstate New York has abundant natural resources, outstanding education, and a geographically favorable location for business. Congressman Reed continues to stress that we must work together to maximize these precious characteristics of the place we all call home.

CHARLES HILL,

Randolph
