Dr. Rudy Mueller issues statement on the Chautauqua County Home

November 1, 2012
The OBSERVER

Dr. Rudy Mueller, candidate for New York State Assembly 150th District, would like to clear up some misunderstandings concerning his position on the Chautauqua County Home.

Some have falsely claimed or stated that he wanted "to close" the County Home. "Nothing could be further from the truth and those statements are outright wrong," Mueller emphasized. "I never wanted nor voted to 'close' the County Home. I have nearly 30 of my own patients who I see and care for in four different nursing homes throughout this county. We need high quality nursing homes and the employees of the County Home provide their residents just that!"

The former county legislator further explained, "At the Dec. 14, 2011 Legislative meeting, I was the legislator who recommended significant conditions be applied to any future private buy/lease agreement before final action by the Legislature. My statements are available on the Chautauqua County Legislative web site.

"Closing this fine facility was not an option and doing so would potentially harm the health of many elderly Chautauqua County residents. As your future state Assemblyman, I would never tolerate such action."
