BUFFALO - Fredonia State defeated Potsdam, 3-0, to advance to the semifinals of the 2012 SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Tournament at Buffalo State.

The Blue Devils improved to 19-15 and set up a meeting at 6 p.m. today against nationally ranked Cortland at the Sports Arena.

Buffalo State and New Paltz will meet in the other semifinal. The two semifinal winners meet for the SUNYAC championship noon Sunday.

Lindsey Olson had 10 kills, three aces, and three blocks in Friday's 25-15, 26-24, 25-18 win over Potsdam, which advanced by defeating Oneonta earlier in the day.

"We came back from 24-22 down," Fredonia State coach Geoff Braun said of the second set. "We came back to win. It was good. A 1-1 match and it could end a lot differently. It would have given them some life. They started blocking very well and had some adjustments."

Kelly Edinger collected 35 assists, while Lauren Hokaj (Lancaster) had 13 digs and six service aces. Kaitlin Orcutt had nine kills.

"We got contributions from everyone and played great defensively," Braun said.

Jenna Blujus of Potsdam had 15 assists and 10 digs.

Fredonia State and Cortland, ranked No. 18 nationally, met once this season with the Red Dragons securing a 3-1 win on Sept. 7.
