Forestville Central School presents ‘Crazy For You’ this weekend

November 7, 2012
The OBSERVER

FORESTVILLE - Forestville Central School will present the musical "Crazy for You" at 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This musical is an updated version of the 1930s Broadway hit "Girl Crazy," and features 20 of George and Ira Gershwin's most famous songs, including "They Can't Take That Away From Me," "But Not For Me," "Embraceable You," "Someone To Watch Over Me," and "I Got Rhythm." The show will also include much of Susan Stroman's Tony Award-winning choreography from the original 1992 Broadway production. If people haven't seen this show before, they should just imagine a combination of "42nd Street" and "Oklahoma," with tap dancing, cowboys, chorus girls, and gunfights, along with mistaken identities, plot twists, and some Marx Brothers physical comedy for good measure. And of course, the audience will hear Gershwin music as well.
