SOUTH DAYTON - The Pine Valley Central School District may be one step closer to having a well project completed.
Superintendent Pete Morgante met with Geologist Brayton Foster and a representative from Chautauqua County to discuss gas well drilling and the building project. Phase 1 of the project will be sent to the state education department.
A start date for phase 1 will hopefully be in the spring, according to Morgante. During Phase 2 of the project, the school hopes to incorporate a new bus lift that needs to be replaced. The bus lift is located in the garage and allows the district to lift up the buses for in-house maintenance. The board will discuss Phase 2 in more detail later.
The board also approved a Future Farmers of America (FFA) trip to the Oswegatchie Educational Center in Croghan and Kayla Corsaro was appointed as a lifeguard. The board will meet again on Nov. 13. There will only be one meeting in November due to Thanksgiving.
