Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society

Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society met on Monday at St. Hyacinth's Lyceum. The president welcomed all who came and the officers led the recitation of the Rosary and prayers for ill and deceased members.

The opening prayer for the meeting was said by Nancy A. Woloszyn.

Secretary Carole Schiller read the minutes from the October meeting and Treasurer Lucille Bartkowski gave the financial report. Both were accepted by all present.

The November birthday of Mary Dworak was celebrated.

It was noted that Tony Popielarz will be having a chicken parmesan dinner on Wednesday, Nov. 14 at St. Hedwig's Social Center from 4 to 8 p.m.

Phyllis Mucha and Loretta Szalkowski will do the semi-annual audit of the financial books in December.

A Christmas Party will be held on Monday, Dec. 3 with Schiller and Sandra Tapasto as chairmen. All members will be called by the committee of Bartkowski, Martha Bialaszewski, Rita Cieslewicz and Dworak.

The society closing prayer was said by Joan Zielinski.

Refreshments were served by Zielinski, Jane Szukala, Sophie Szynski, Sophia Urbanik and Janet Adamczak.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 3.

Mt. Carmel Social Club

Members met for an installation luncheon at the Colony House on Nov. 5 to install new officers for 2012-2013. Father Dan Fiebelkorn officiated. The officers are president, Carm Tampio; vice president, Mary Congdon; second vice president, Josie Crino; secretary, Sue Borowski; treasurer, Melanie Bates; financial officer, Jeanette Mula; and chaplain, Carm Mortibito. Previous officers were thanked for their loyal service, including vice president, Dorothy Miniri; and secretary, Thelma Hilliker.

There will be no meeting Nov. 21. The next meeting will be Dec. 5. Plans for the Christmas party will be discussed.

Friends of the Dunkirk Free Library

Friends of the Dunkirk Free Library recently held its reorganization meeting. The election of officers results are as follows: President Marie Damico, Vice President Lenore Fiebelkorn, Treasurer Margie Dye, Corresponding Secretary Carol Oliveria and Recording Secretary Shirley Scott.

The group thanked outgoing President Fiebelkorn and Treasurer Fran Bruno for their work with the Friends.

The Friends are planning a pancake breakfast for Dec. 1 from 8 to 10 a.m. at Applebee's.
