Editor, OBSERVER:
I have suggestions for the Best of and Worst of from October.
BEST - The taking down of the Brocton Arch. It's an exciting, once-in-a-lifetime, historical event to have the arch taken down in preparation for restoration and re-erection on this upcoming 100 year anniversary. As of Oct. 22, there are no double arches anywhere East of the Mississippi since Brocton was home to the only one.

Crews on the evening of Oct. 22 and early morning of Oct. 23 took down the arch.
WORST - The taking down of the Brocton Arch. The newspaper has printed numerous articles leading up to the event and not one mention the next day after it was down. More heartbreaking was the lack of community support and local government enthusiasm. Only a handful of residents were there from beginning to end, two of which were the dedicated business owners at the Arch corners, and not one public figure from village or town was there to see it to the end.
