Police investigating incidents which took place 90 minutes apart

The Dunkirk Police Department are investigating two stabbing incidents with occurred within two hours Friday afternoon.

The first incident occurred just after 3 p.m. on the 400 block of Central Avenue where an apparent argument turned violent. A Dunkirk man, who was attempting to calm the situation was stabbed in the shoulder area. The man, whose identity is not being released at this time, was treated at Brooks Memorial Hospital before being transferred to Erie County Medical Center in Buffalo, His injuries, although serious, are not believed to be life threatening.

The second incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on lower Lincoln Avenue. Police responded to a reported stabbing at 95 Lincoln Ave. and located a victim with multiple stab wounds. He was treated by Dunkirk Fire and Rescue and was taken to Brooks Memorial Hospital. He was later transferred to ECMC in Buffalo with injuries considered to be serious. Police did not release his name or say what community he is from.
