Sandy lessons are powerful

November 11, 2012
The OBSERVER

Editor, OBSERVER:

Here are some lessons from Hurricane Sandy and the New York and New Jersey gas lines:

Green energy is not much help in a natural disaster!

Wind power, solar panels and alike cannot replace gasoline, diesel, and kerosene.

So wake up America! The green energy agenda will leave you without power and the energy needed to power America's economy. We need all forms energy and the jobs they will provide.

God Bless America and help save us from clueless politicians!

EDWARD J. STEGLE,

Dunkirk

A month closer to winter

Editor, OBSERVER:

"November"

The world turns today

far and away from spring

from summer the fragrance

the bloom that was!

On to the closure of autumn

with its gentle yet fleeting

warm and final breath

with colorful resignation

of days to come

Browns, purples and golds

to usher in

Winter! A cold blue sleep.

Fredonia
