County STOP-DWI program to participate in statewide public awareness, education campaign

November 12, 2012
The OBSERVER

MAYVILLE - Chautauqua STOP-DWI Coordinator Sheriff Joseph A. Gerace has announced that Chautauqua County will participate in a new statewide media campaign that will help local efforts to keep the impaired driving issue in the forefront of the public's mind.

The STOP-DWI public awareness effort is spearheaded by the NYS STOP-DWI Foundation, Inc, through funding from the Governor's Highway Safety committee.

The campaign includes two sets of TV ad spots, radio PSAs, updated pamphlets and graphics and an updated www.stopdwi.org website. The TV and radio spots are also available in Spanish. All of the above materials are free to County STOP-DWI Programs.

The STOP-DWI multi-media campaign also features the launch of an updated STOP-DWI NY logo in a move to highlight the program's community focus and lifesaving accomplishments.

All print elements are available on the new STOP-DWI Coordinator's web portal at www.stopdwi.com.

All TV and radio ad spots are available on a dedicated STOP-DWI Vimeo Channel. This service solves a logistical issue for STOP-DWI Coordinators of getting broadcast quality dubs to media outlets. HD and SD versions are available.

Sheriff Gerace said, "These public awareness and education materials will go a long way in helping with our traffic safety efforts and lifesaving mission. This public awareness effort coincides with the STOP-DWI Crackdown effort - a statewide DWI enforcement effort that targets key holidays throughout the year."

For more information, contact Sheriff Gerace at 753-4900.
